A teaching cardiologist who still runs clinics
Dr. Das trained at S.C.B. Medical College and has spent his career inside Odisha's public medical system, teaching cardiology while seeing patients in wards, clinics and the cath lab.
He finished MBBS with honours in 1995, MD in Medicine in 1999 as best outgoing postgraduate, and DM in Cardiology in 2006. In 2008 he added a postgraduate diploma in geriatric medicine from IGNOU, standing first in the country.
Alongside patient care he reviews national guidance on hypertension, serves on the institutional ethics committee at S.C.B. Medical College, and has led doctors' associations across Odisha, most recently as Secretary General of the state's medical college teachers' association.
Patients meeting him for the first time often recognise him from television, where he has produced more than a hundred health programmes in Odia.
